Waterworks is happy to announce our 2025-26 season!
We start next year’s season with Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, a serious drama with a large cast and a lot to ponder. This important 1953 work holds a mirror to then-current activities of Senator McCarthy and of the House Un-American Activities Committee with a fictionalized account of the Salem Witch Trials and a literal “witch hunt”. Sean Dowse will direct (previous credits: Appropriate, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), and the show dates are October 17, 18, 19, 24, and 25. We anticipate auditions in June (stay tuned for an announcement!) with rehearsals beginning in August.
Our panto for December, running the 5, 6, 12, and 13th, will be Jack and Jill (the troll’s story), by Jack Shaw. British-style panto has become an annual tradition at Waterworks, and Kolby Logue (previous: Godspell) will turn her talents to directing this year, with an assist from LeeAnn Schock.
Our musical of the season will be in March, with a production of Alice By Heart, written by Steven Sater and Jessie Nelson, and with music by Duncan Sheik (also known for their work on Spring Awakening). It is a reimagining of the story of Alice in Wonderland, as told and enacted by London residents sheltering in a Tube station during a WWII bombing raid. Elijah Logue (previous: Addams Family, Wiley and the Hairy Man) returns to the director’s chair, and performances will run March 13-15th and 20-22nd.
The fourth and final show of the 2025-26 season will be Picasso at the Lapin Agile, written by comedian Steve Martin (of SNL fame). What would happen if a young Einstein and a young Picasso met in 1904 and hung out at a corner bar in Montmartre? Veteran director Jordan Whiley (previous: Twelfth Night, A Phoenix Too Frequent) will take the helm on this comedy, to be performed July 10, 11, 12, 17, and 18 of 2026.
We are eagerly looking forward to the shows of next season; but while we wait, make sure you’ve got your calendars marked for the final show of our 2024-25 season, The Play that Goes Wrong, by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields: its performances run August 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9 of this year.
