Waterworks Players announces their next production: The Vagrant, directed by Greg Tsigaridas and written by Brett Hursey, professor of Creative Writing at Longwood University. Hursey’s works have been produced nationally including at Off-Broadway theaters and our very own Waterworks (collections of his 10-minute plays for “Small Doses” and “Lucky Charms”).
Auditions are open to the public at 7:00 pm on December 10th and 11th at the Waterworks Theatre building (25 SMI Way, Farmville) and will consist of cold readings from the script.
Rehearsals will begin on January 3rd and generally run Sunday through Thursday nights (depending on scenes, cast members may not be called every night). Performances will be evening shows on February 23rd, 24th, March 1st, and 2nd, and a Sunday matinee on February 25th.
Characters in The Vagrant are six people whose paths come together around a bench by a city street. Dramatic and at times bursting with humor, the story examines the various choices they make dealing with the competitive and difficult aspects of life in our society. Adult actors of any age and any race/ethnicity are encouraged to audition. All roles are available at this time.
