Waterworks Players will be holding auditions on December 8th and 9th for the upcoming production of The Savannah Sipping Society, by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. The play is a comedy that follows the relationships of four middle-aged Southern women who initially seem to have little in common but who all discover a need to escape the routines of their daily lives.
Caitlin Linkins will direct the production. For Waterworks, she last directed Lucky Charms, in September 2018, and has worked behind the scenes and onstage in a variety of our other productions. More recently, she directed a production of The Laramie Project for Unified Theatre Company (performed at the Waterworks playhouse in September).
We are seeking to cast four women for the show. The characters’ ages range from roughly 40 to 70, but actors outside this range are encouraged to audition.
Auditions will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday and Monday, December 8th and 9th at the Waterworks Theatre. Actors will be provided with excerpts from the script to perform cold readings; no advance preparation is required.
Rehearsals will begin December 15th-19th, and resume after a holiday hiatus on January 5th. We will work with you to accommodate conflicts.
Performances are on January 31st and February 1st, 7th, and 8th in the evenings, plus one afternoon matinee on February 2nd.
