The Waterworks Players is holding auditions on January 7th and 8th for its February production of The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church.
A comedy written by Virginia playwright Bo Wilson, The Charitable Sisterhood is a story of a group of ladies who meet to organize a relief effort for homeless Guatemalans by sorting through a mountain of community donations. A hilarious and heartwarming play, the Richmond Times-Dispatch notes that “The humorously unwieldy title…might suggest another church lady play, but the charitable sisters are more like the women of Steel Magnolias, with a few unexpected twists.”
We are seeking 5 mature female actors. In addition, we need a number of stagehands to assist during technical week rehearsals and the four public performances.
Auditions will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday and Monday, January 7th & 8th at the Waterworks Theater. There will be cold readings from the script.
Waterworks’ Artistic Director Dudley Sauve will direct the production and Technical Director Moffatt Evans will design the set.
The show runs February 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 8 pm.
