The Waterworks Players is holding auditions on July 29th and July 30th for its September production of Brett Hursey’s Lucky Charms. This is a compilation of seven short plays that are together presented as one complete work, like a collection of short stories. These plays are comedies and most feature zany characters and absurdist plots. Hursey’s works have been produced in five foreign countries and in more than 100 theatres in the United States. Longwood theatre graduate Caitlin Mazura will direct the production.
This is the fourth time Waterworks has presented mini plays penned by Brett Hursey, a Longwood professor who teaches creative writing. “Each time, he wows the audiences with characters who find themselves in strange situations,” notes Waterworks Players’ Artistic Director Dudley Sauve. “We are thrilled to welcome him back to our stage again.”
There are many roles for both males and females from age 16 to 60. Some cast members may have multiple roles.
Auditions will be held at 8:00 pm on Sunday and Monday, July 29th and 30th at the Waterworks Theater. There will also be cold readings from the script. In addition, we need a number of stage hands to assist during technical week rehearsals and the two public performances.
The show runs September 7th and 8th.
