Waterworks Players is excited to announce auditions for the 2024 Tony Award Winner, Appropriate by Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins. This production will be directed by Sean Dowse.
Auditions will be held Sunday and Monday, December 15 and 16, 2024, at the Waterworks theatre, 25 SMI Way, Farmville, VA 23901. Callbacks, if necessary, will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
The director asks actors to please come prepared with a one-minute monologue in the style of the show. Also, actors should familiarize themselves with the sides provided. Actors should come prepared to read these sides with another reader.

About the show:
Every estranged member of the Lafayette clan has descended upon the crumbling Arkansas homestead to settle the accounts of the newly dead patriarch. As his three adult children sort through a lifetime of hoarded mementos and junk, they collide over clutter, debt, and a contentious family history. But after a disturbing discovery surface among their father’s possessions, the reunion takes a turn for the explosive, unleashing a series of crackling surprises and confrontations.
